Is there a reason you pointed that out?

Just noting that Suzi donated back nearly 4 months of her council income back to the city. I think that is impressive.

That is impressive. And this is one of the reasons why I wanted to nominate Suzi for Mayor. She could have been Monroe’s first female Mayor. Suzi and I had our disagreements over the years but that has no bearing on what she has done while on Council. This is why I sent the current Mayor an email telling him that I was going to nominate her. But she received a phone call after I sent my email and she later decided to resign from Council effective 12/31/17. So her being Mayor is no longer in the cards. Below is the email that I sent.

Suzi has been excellent for Monroe. She has been on the school board and city council. Suzi was a major spearhead for Monroe becoming its own school district. Monroe owes a major debt of gratitude to Suzi Rubin.

We have been blessed to have her in as a Monroe public servant.

I hope she will be running for a higher office. I have and will continue to donate to any office she seeks.

Suzi if you are reading this, thanks for all the years of excellent leadership and thanks for your friendship.

Wow, this is interesting. Just a few things-

1- I wonder what the phone call Mrs. Rubin received was all about. Did that call initiate her action to resign soon? Mrs. Rubin, please comment if possible.

2- I am curious to understand why Hustler was not on the donation list? Certainly they didn't donate money and not get recognized right?

3- Great email and idea about Mrs. Rubin becoming the first female Mayor. Your transparency on this issue is admirable. I like your conservative values. Merry Christmas! It feels so good to be able to say that again doesn't it?
