Hey these council candidates are all running unopposed. Just like the school board.

Have we no one in this whole big city of over 13,500 people who can and will run?

Well considering most people don't consider being part of the "club" of council members, why bother? It's only self-serving interests

It is that very attitude that keeps those in power, in power. Perhaps we need term limits on council seats to get new blood into the system.

We need this in Washington too.

Ohio State House, Senate and Gov all have term limits. So it works at the state level.

Wouldn't it be great to have term limits at the National Level? I am getting to the point that I will support a primary challenger even if I basically like the incumbant! Even "my bum" needs to get the hell out of D.C. after 2 terms!!!

I would love to see people run. This is the third time in a row that everyone ran unopposed. We have three Council members that never had to buy a sign. All they had to do is get 50 signatures to be put on the ballot. Four years ago we only had two people on the ballot and one that was a write-in. We even bump the pay up and still no one runs. I can understand why but I just wish people would challenge those in office. It’s not good to leave those in office unchecked which is what is happening. In Oxford they have nine people running for four openings. That’s the way it should be. People need to get involved locally.

I threw my name in the hat for Bob Kelleys vacant seat and was deemed unworthy after being interviewed by those seated council people.
You surely don't think I would waste my time trying to convince the entire city of voters to put me on council, do you?
Todd, you know me. I'm ugly; not stupid.

The offer is generous. But I just turned 40. I’m going to enjoy my third act with minimal stress.

Third act? How many acts are there? Wonder which act I'm on.

So you're saying I'm in the 4th act? Is there a 5th?
