I heard that US Bank was robbed and there are probably 20+ cop cars on the scene?  Anyone know any more than that?

Monroe police officers are asking the public for assistance after an armed man robbed the U.S. Bank of an undisclosed amount of money Thursday afternoon.

Police said a man wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt and a face covering, walked into the bank at 1:55 p.m., displayed what appeared to be a black handgun and demanded money from the tellers. The subject received money from two of the teller locations, said Monroe officer Joshua King.

No one was injured and no shots were fired, police said.

The subject fled on foot, and a Butler County Sheriff’s Office dog searched the area and tracked the scent to Ohio Avenue where it was lost, police said.

Monroe Police Chief Robert Buchanan said police believe the robber might have gotten into a car that was parked nearby the bank, 4 Main St. Several Monroe police officers searched cars parked in the area and went door-to-door on Ohio Avenue asking residents if they saw anyone who looked suspicious, Buchanan said.

The robber is at large, and police are asking anyone with information of his whereabouts to call detectives at 513-360-2206 or the Crime Tip Line at 513-360-2211.

Monroe Primary School, located near the bank, was placed on lockdown for the duration of the incident to ensure the safety of the students, the chief said.

Besides Monroe, law enforcement officers from Middletown, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol and West Chester assisted.

Does this bank not have cameras?  Wouldn't a picture of the suspect help to identify him?

Huh. Over 20 Monroe city police officers, Butler County deputies (and their dogs), Ohio state police and West Chester police were all involved. Yet, no one can catch this bandit. This happened around three hundred yards from the Monroe city police station. Incredibly, the perpetrator was on foot! With all this law enforcement, does no one else think it amazing that they still need the public's help? The bank's money is insured and no one was injured. Move along, nothing to see here...
