I ate at Clubhouse Grille yesterday for lunch with my family.

We had the fried pickles, rueben sandwiches, taco salad, cheeseburger & nugget kids meals.

The fries were incredibly greasy, the service was incredibly SLOW.

But the fried pickles were great, the cheeseburgers were good. The taco salad was lacking in the meat department, and both people who got the rueben sandwiches said they were pretty good.

We were informed that this was their "soft opening" and we should be patient with them because the grand opening would give them time to "practice."

I will be patient because I want a good restaurant to succeed....but friendly service is only 50% of the win, you have to have the food out quickly as well.

I'll be back...but I'm giving them a few weeks to improve.

Service was so-so (very busy, so I will give them an edge), food was good, however, my daughter and her boyfriend being followed out by management (who was prepared to write down their license plate number) and accused them of not paying their bill (when it was paid in full by my husband and I) was not so nice.  For that reason, I doubt that we return.

Some of my girlfriends and I went last night.  The service was good.  A little slow but they were very busy and we were busy chatting so we didn't mind the wait.  We ordered appetizers and shared.  We had Buffalo Chicken Dip, Hanky Panky, Nacho's & Fried Pickles.  Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced.  I can't wait to go back again.

We went yesterday and everything we had was very good. Buffalo Dip, Steak Hogie, Buffalo Burger, Wings, and fries. Wanted to try more but that will have to wait until next time.

Had lunch there today at 12:30. Service was good but they were a little dead at the time since it was before football started.

The soft pretzel bread appetizer wasn't all that soft but was delicious. The wife didn't like her grilled cheese too much. I found the Sticky burger (Cheeseburger + PB) to be very interesting. Pretty good and clever combo but not something amazing I'd want to eat everyday. They've got a wide selection of draft beers from which I had Yuengling.

I like that it's a more family oriented place than Wings'n'rings and cheaper then the Red Onion. Though their beer menu could use some work. 8 or 9 taps of bud light, miller light, yuengling, mich ultra, bud, Sam Adam's seasonal stuff like that. If they threw a Cincinnati beer on there I'd be much happier and would stop there much more often.

I went with some friends Friday night after work and we tried 4 appetizers and all were very good!  Draft beer was $2.25 for Happy Hour but no Happy Hour specials on other drinks or appetizers.  Service was okay and it may have been the manager that stopped by our table twice to see how everything was.  They seated us at a regular table first and we felt like we were at a kid's table because they sit low so we moved to a high top table which was much better.

I took the hubby there yesterday for a late lunch/early dinner and I had the Hot Ham and Cheese on a Pretzel Bun which was delicious!!  The hubby had a burger and fries and said it was good.  We had potato skins as an appetizer and we only ate 2 out of 4 so they were just okay.  The service was wonderful!

The atmosphere was comfortable and we will definitely be going back! Clap

Stopped in on Friday afternoon. Service was good but not impressed with my BLT. Burnt toast and just tossed topping on bread. One half had tomato and bacon - other half had lettuce no tomato and no bacon. I thought it was also a bit overpriced. Food was decent but can't say I'd make a special stop there again! I do wish them the best!

I believe she has every right to post her experiences.

I just don't buy the second part.

If you really wanted a place to succeed there are far better ways to handle such a matter.

No you don't believe that at all. You keep making remarks as if you know what I mean or how I mean it. I do wish them the best because it's a business in Monroe. I don't personally [care] what you buy or how you buy it. Why don't you just quit commenting when it comes to what I have to say. You don't care if it's true you just want to be the same [guy] you have always been!
What matter is there to handle exactly?? I wasn't impressed with the presentation of my food. I didn't say OH hell NO stay away from there! It was my experience and I wasn't overly impressed....sort of how I feel about you!Wacko

We went Friday night.  Atmosphere is nice, food was ok and our waiter, could use some help.

Bacon Cheesburger was decent. Chips were good
Boneless wings were good. Fries were soggy/old
BLT sandwich not great.  Half cooked bacon on one side and overcooked on the other. (Was told it came from 2 different cooks?)

It appears that depending on the shifts, a lot of people have great experiences and great food while others have mediocre at best of both. Does anyone have a suggestion on what time is the best to go to get both good food and service?

Went this past weekend an was disappointed that they only had one size of beer a 16 oz glass for $2.75 domestic draught. Actually it ended up being around 14oz so when compared to frickers which has 22oz for $2.22 it seemed overpriced. At least that was the last time I was there

Pot roast sandwich was okay but just meat on toast would be nice to have some au jus or maybe some horseradish added, just seemed plain for the price.

They pushed the bill on us pretty quick so we we probably would have stayed a little longer but felt rushed. Then it took 10 minutes or so after I placed out credit card out to have the waitress to pick it up.

Pretzels were good, cheese sauce was decent, had better.

Lets hope that they can have better specials on game days in the future, also keno and buzztime would be nice.

Most likely will return, hopefully somebody is reading from there taking all the suggestions.

Went there yesterday and had the Cheese Whiz on Bologna with Wonder Bread and a bowl of hot dog water soup with bacon bits. Wasn't the best hot dog water I've ever had, but then again, no one could make it like Mom.

For desert we shot Reddy Whip directly from the can, into our mouth and washed it down with strawberry flavored Nesquick.

We will go back again.

My wife hates the whole concept of hot dog water so I like to mention it quite often as an international delicacy in a bad fake French accent. "Ahhhh the fresh simmering heat of the hot dog water"

We have been twice.  The first time we went was their 2nd night open and the service was a little slow but the food was good.  The chef walked around to see how we liked it.  They were out of some things since they were not expecting the huge rush they had opening night, no big deal.  We had the steak philly, nachos (which they split in half since hubby is a chili nacho guy) and the beef, sausage on rye appetizer.  We went again on Sunday and again the food was good.  The service was a little faster and the chef still walked around to see how things were.  He took my suggestion for the sandwich we ordered and added it when we ordered again.  Their steak philly with the beer cheese added is awesome!  We got the taco pizza which we wanted the first night and it was really good!  The nachos again (minus the chili, it has cinamon in it).  My daughter ordered the wings which she liked.  Over all I like the atmosphere, feel like it is more family friendly and the food is good.  And anyone that is open to suggestion will only increase their business. Big smile  We will go back.

We had dinner there on Saturday. The deep fried mushrooms were yummy!! My daughter loved the wings, son loved the steak sandwich. I got a pizza, but it wasn't all that great. The ground beef tasted weird.
I really do hope this place does well. It'd be awesome if they could copy the menu from Putter's!

If we have the occasion correct, one of the manager's noticed someone leaving, what appeared to be upset in a hurry.  It was our intent to correct what might have been wrong.  We did not write down any license plates.  We were just attemping to correct what appeared to be someone mad.  We are a family run business and you will see many of us here.  We are truely glad to be in Monroe and we will work hard to earn Monroe's and the surrounding communities business.  Any concerns can be addressed to anyone of us at The Clubhouse Sports Grille.  We value your opinion and will work hard to make this a place for everyone.  There are two sides to every story.  We hope you choose to come back and give us a second chance.
