Mrs. Clinton did not have a government email address during her four-year tenure at the State Department. Her aides took no actions to have her personal emails preserved on department servers at the time, as required by the Federal Records Act.

Certainly disappointing to hear. I'm not sure what the punishments are for breaking this law, but as a fan of transparency in government, it's certainly disheartening to know that so many people knew about this and were ok with it.

That's one of the bigger drawbacks to Hillary being President. The lack of transparency that her and Bill are known for. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't think any person, Dem or Rep, who is seriously considering running would be any better.

That said, she is extremely favored to be the Dem nominee and I don't think anything short of a major scandal will derail that. I would definitely vote for her over a generic Republican opponent and I doubt the R's will surprise me. So I may not be thrilled about it, but at this early early early moment, I will probably be supporting her for President.

Only because she's 1. A Clinton, 2. A woman, 3. A Democrat would you even bat an eye.

Jeb Bush, John Kerry, and even Colin Powell all did the same thing.

"controversy" over.

Move on.

Nearly all politicians play by their own rules. Sometimes you get punished for it (Tom DeLay) but many times you don't (all other politicians)

Well the controversy is over because no one really cares. In the grand scheme of things, this isn't even a tiny pebble in a giant ocean for people. Nearly everyone has already formed opinions about Hillary.

However, the issue is that Hillary broke the law. It wasn't a law when Colin Powell was SecState. John Kerry uses his state dept email as SecState. It's a legit issue and very disappointing but it doesn't matter.

Mmmmmmm....."the controversy is over". Really? It seems to me that it is just getting heated up. I think there is more to come.

Let's not even consider the Republicans yapping (AGAIN) about Bengazi and whatever her "personal" email may reveal about her communications regarding that..... A bigger problem for her might be a link connecting her communincations with foreign governments while Sec of State and donations to the "Hillary fund".

Liz for Prez!!

Matt, I'm glad to see you aren't white knighting for your girl here.  This is a big deal.  She broke the law and people should care.  Putting aside the security issues associated with a State Department official conducting business independent of the federally protected and managed servers, the SECRETARY OF STATE made the intentional decision to purchase and manage her own personal e-mail server to conduct her affairs.  Really?!?  Nobody sees a problem with this?  This woman is a piece of work....

My girl? Haha I've never been a big fan of Hillary. Was on the Obama train early on in 2007/2008 and haven't hopped off.

Look I agree that it is a big deal. And I see lots of problems. But I don't think this is going to be a game changer in anyway. Most Americans either don't care or have already made up their mind about how they feel about Hillary and this will do nothing to change it.

It's highly disappointing. But I mean, when it comes down to it, I'd rather have her President than someone who compares union workers to ISIS. Or Rand Paul. Or any of the early frontrunners in the GOP. Maybe that will change as it gets closer.

Which is one of the reasons we ended up with Obama for 8 dreadful years...

Come on.  Don't parrot this nonsense about Scott Walker.  He wasn't comparing union workers to terrorists and that wasn't the point he was trying to make.  I hate it when lefties repeat these Huffington Post/DailyKos made up controversies in hopes it will stick.

Yeah, well I'd prefer Rick Santorum over HillBill.   Take that!

While this isn't great, I don't think you should trivialize animal cruelty either. What Romney did was bad. Though that didn't do anything to his electoral chances.

Everyone is guilty of being associated with Saudi Arabia, one of the more repressive states in the world.

I'm obviously not a big fan of Hillary but it's hard for me to get mad at one person vs another on the issue of Saudi Arabia.

Animal cruelty..riiiight.   From the wiki page on the incident.  Yes, I said wiki page.   Feel free to laugh at the lunacy of this "story" having it's own wiki page...

"Overlooked in the clucking over the incident is the fact that the dog was in a crate, probably little different from the dog kennels used to transport animals in the cold-storage compartments of airplanes. Romney had erected a barrier to shield the family pet from the wind. Romney, the family man heading to the lake, didn't seem heartless at the time. But politics is a heartless business"

This man is clearly a sadistic animal abuser unworthy of the highest office!!  Thank GOD America dodged that bullet!

I know Matt.   A little hypocrisy is OK as long as it's your guy....or girl.  By the way, I'd like to see a list of politicians who have taken donations from Saudi Arabia.  Know where I can find one?

Oh, I see Blackwater is on her donor list!  Ooooooooh!  How do you like that? I thought only eeeeevil Republicans were part of the Military Industrial Complex?
