The Equal Rights Amendment was passed by Congress in 1972 and still, in 2018, has not received the necessary 38 states’ approval. It was originally submitted with a seven year deadline, and then expanded to a ten year deadline. So, 45 years later, Nevada became the 36th state to ratify: still two states short of the 38 required to pass. The fourteen states still holding out are AR, AL, AZ, FL, GA, IL, LA, MS, MO, NC, OK, SC, UT and VA. Note that the only other Amendment explicitly for women was the right to vote, which was not passed until 1920. With all of the current media coverage regarding sexual misconduct, I am amazed that more women haven’t taken up this cause. Just food for thought.

Today is Women’s Equality Day. August 26th marks the 98th anniversary of the 19th Amendment which was certified on this day in 1920. This amendment allowed women the right to vote. Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court could jeapordize women exercising their constitutional right to an abortion. Any thoughts?

That's a straw man argument the ERA and abortion issues are not related. One is constitutional the other is not.
