...?  Is there where I am supposed to defend my comment...?  Would it have made a difference, if I had said "homosexual"?

No.  This is the time when you explain the quotation marks.

I don't actually owe you any explanation.

The quotes mean that, unlike A LOT of people on here, I don't put labels on people.  The quotes mean that I see them as only my friends.  I am not intolerant, simply because I don't agree with someone's lifestyle.  To be tolerant is simply to accept, or tolerate, that something is what it is--you don't have to like it, or agree with it.  It is also not discrimination, or bigotry to disagree with someone's lifestyle.  And, it is certainly not WRONG for someone to stand by their religious convictions.  As long as MFD50 hasn't harmed anyone, or infringed on their legal rights, there is nothing that you, or anyone else, can do about his beliefs.  Or mine.  Or anyone else's.

I will not argue about this topic, any further.  As I stated previously, this is how feelings get hurt, in the first place.

Thank you for your response and explanation, Animal.

I want to be clear that I agree that MFD50 is absolutely entitle to his/her beliefs.  Just as the patrons of this homosexual bar are equally entitled to theirs.  And I don't have to agree with either one if I so choose.  It's all about respect though, which is a two way street.  Not once (that I know of) have I seen any homosexual, minority, atheist, etc. get on this forum and put people down for who they are, or call their hangout evil and immoral just because they are different.  But multiple times I have seen the religious folks on here make these same judgments about others.  It's very telling and seemingly very contradictory to the bible these people profess to cling to.

A terrific author named Brennan Manning has a lot to say about this very thing.  I highly recommend his work to anyone.

You Ragamuffin you!!

My only question about this entire thread is why didn't you react to the OP when he stated this as a "gay" bar.  Why isn't it just a bar?  After all, heterosexuals have posted on here stating they go and have a blast.

I do not disagree with some of what you are saying(not all though), but I do think you purposely picked a fight with a Christian when you could have picked a fight with the OP for the way they started the entire thread.

Old Street does serve a better sausage sandwich than Red Onion.
