Rose McGowan accuses Hollywood actresses of fakery after they wear black at Golden Globes but didn’t do anything to stop sex scandal

The Charmed star lashed out at the famous females who took a stand against the Hollywood sex abuse scandal

ROSE McGowan has lashed out at the stars who wore black to the Golden Globes, accusing them of "Hollywood fakery" for failing to take a stand against the sex abuse claims sooner.

The Charmed star claims the famous females who united against the scandal "wouldn't have lifted a finger" to help if she hadn't gone public with allegations against Harvey Weinstein.

Rose, 44, was among the first to speak out against the shamed movie producer, alleging he raped her in the 1990s and then offered her £75,000 to keep quiet.

The sleazy Hollywood mogul, 65, was hit by a wave of sex allegations, which he denied, and he ended up being fired from his film firm The Weinstein Company and separating from his wife Georgina Chapman as the scandal raged.

The issue of abuse against women in Hollywood was the hot topic at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles last night, with many stars wearing black in solidarity with the victims.

However, Rose, who is believed not to have attended the prizegiving, is adamant they are guilty of "Hollywood fakery" for failing to act sooner.

She blasted the actresses in a scathing message on Twitter after actress Asia Argento, who was one of the women to speak out against Weinstein, sent her a supportive tweet.

Asia, 42, wrote: "No one should forget that you were the first one who broke the silence.

"Anyone who tries to diminish your work is a troll and an enemy of the movement. You gave me the courage to speak out. I am on your side until I die."

Rose then replied: "And not one of those fancy people wearing black to honor our rapes would have lifted a finger had it not been so.

"I have no time for Hollywood fakery, but you I love, .@AsiaArgento #RoseArmy."

Stars including Reese Withersoon, Jennifer Aniston and Catherine Zeta Jones all wore black dresses at the prizegiving in Los Angeles last night.

It was meant as a silent protest against the abuse which centred around allegations made against Weinstein.

The women’s N.O.W. Organization was founded in 1966. Fifty two years later, I think it’s pathetic that the very concept of feminism has been reduced to “word of the day “. Equality and feminism should be unnecessary words in a truly democratic society. As for the Golden Globe wearers of black...at least they did something, no matter how small the gesture.

Yes,unfortunately, it WAS a "small gesture"; especially since many of them - notably Oprah Winfrey, who has bad a close personal relationship with Harvey Winstein for 2 decades!! Wear black to denounce your great bud AFTER he is "outed". THAT shows real "fake" courage and outrage! I would have had more respect for her had she spoke up 15 years ago.
