While everyone on the east coast in America is freezing, some news came out today about how January was the 2nd hottest on record globally.

Only a little behind last year.

Also in the article it talks about how the eastern US is the coldest place on Earth today relative to average. In fact, DC and most of Ohio are colder than everywhere in Alaska today.

So it's cooler this January than last?
Wonder how February is going to stack up.

2 months in a row of global cooling would a trend make. Wink

Are they using the same thermometer for these readings and is the calibration on it up to date ? Big smile

Haha, if only climate change was on a linear scale

For example, citizens who prize individual self-sufficiency tend to dismiss claims of environmental risk because accepting these claims would license restrictions on free markets.

Nice summary, that's it in a nutshell....

Us self sufficient people are the burden on society, not those who receive our tax dollars.
Next thing I expect you to say is we would all be safer without guns.
Or being killed by media inspired copycat terrorists is less important than climate change.
Or that the Education Department is doing a good job for education in America.

You're largely left wing talking points but that's what makes you interesting.  Clap

Funny, share the land is one of my favorite songs. It should be yours too.

Here is a higher quality version of a song I loved back in the 70s when I was a damned dirty hippy.

Yes I owned this album.

Umm did you stop reading the article after this sentence? Because the conclusions you jumped to are not what the article is saying.

Also, I'll engage. What left wing talking points do I state?

Climate change is real? - that's not a left wing talking point, that's a scientific talking point. I'm just stating accepted facts in the scientific community regardless of political affiliation.

Also, I'd rather have the Education Dept educate our kids than say something like Oklahoma. Or any state that puts creationism or "intelligent design" into the classrooms. I'd prefer our children to be scientifically literate so we can compete on the global stage with every other country.
