yay! let's have our children stay obese and then grow up with a lot of medical problems that everyone else will have to pay for!

Anyway, sarcasm aside, I'm glad to see that you think that people should have free choice over their bodies and what can and cannot come in and out of them.

Maybe they could have them answer a common core math question before they could eat lunch.

Might take then awhile.

You're right Matt. Better for the government to dictate our diets and increase malnourishment in our children.

New rules on school meals inspired by Michelle Obama were intended to wipe out hunger and malnutrition among American students - but some are complaining they have had the opposite effect.

High schools are now forbidden from giving pupils more than 850 calories for their lunch - even if they are fast-growing teenagers or even student athletes.

One enterprising group of adolescents channelled their anger at the policy into a parody YouTube video promoting their cause entitled 'We Are Hungry'.

Considering the school day is only six hours long, why is lunch served at all?

When I was in high school, lunch options included (and what I pretty much ate for 4 years straight 5 days a week) pizza, fries, pop, ice cream or candy, and maybe a burger or second slice of pizza.

I know I was sure malnourished. About the same time I was told I needed to cut down on some of this crap by my GP.

I'm all for healthier options being mandated, but the calorie restriction is absurd.

How about: Grilled chicken breast, steamed veggies (or raw), milk/juice/water, yogurt, and some fruit.

Whats wrong with that?

CHICKASHA, Okla. – Lunch meat, a couple of crackers, a slice of cheese and two pieces of cauliflower qualified as lunch in Chickasha Public Schools Monday.

Chickasha lunchStudent Kaytlin Shelton took a photo of the skimpy lunch and showed it to her parents.

“It makes me want to take that and take it to the Superintendent and tell him to eat it for lunch,” the girl tells Fox 25.
