TAX BUDGET HEARING
OF THE MONROE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOARD OF EDUCATION
January 8, 2018

Tax Budget Hearing, January 8, 2018

The Monroe Local School’s Tax Budget Hearing was held at 6:00 PM on January 8, 2018, at the Monroe
Elementary Cafeteria, 220 Yankee Road, Monroe OH. An invitation was extended to the public for their input
and comments.

Board members Tom Leeds, David Grant, Tim Carpenter, Brett Guido and Leslie Stone were in attendance.
Several members of the public were in attendance. Ms. Cahall was available to answer questions about the
Tax Budget for FY 2019. The Tax Budget is required by the Butler County Auditor to show estimated tax
receipts and projected expenses for FY 2018 and following year. Mrs. Cahall reported that this was a year of
reevaluation by the County Auditor. She reported that property valuation increased from 311,403,310 to
340,066,500 representing about 9% growth over last year.

She said for this reason, the mills for the Bond Fund would remain at 4.5. She said also the mills for the two
Substitute Levies were decreased, and will still yield the amount authorized by the levies. She said the school
could expect more property tax revenue overall because of increased values. The Tax Budget for FY 2019
shows a decrease of 1.8 mills overall.
