Emergency Resolution No. 40-2017. A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an
agreement by and between the City of Monroe and CivicPlus for the redesign of the City's website
and declaring an emergency.

Background and Discussion Last year we sought interest to assist us to update our website.
From that interest we decided to hire CivicPlus to assist us in the process and ran a project
through to redesign just the economic development portion of the website. After working with
CivicPlus successfully on the redesign of that portion, we are ready to move forward for the rest
of the site. I have brought together a group of employees from each department that will be
responsible for the their departments portion of the website and that will provide help providing
input to CivicPlus through the process. Our hope is to have the new site up by the end of the
year to coincide with the roll out of our new logo.

CivicPlus is a national company that works locally with Liberty Township and others on the
development of websites and social media integration. They are template driven and make
adding content simple, which will be important to ensure we have a consistent look and feel on
all pages while making it easy for individuals departments to add their content without much
training. We are also starting to expand our social media presence and the integration with the
website is an important factor.
