Kentucky is the first state to require Medicaid recipients to work. At least Kentucky has a first in something. Kentucky’s uninsured rate fell from 20.4% to 7.8% under ACA, the largest decrease in the country. Kentucky’s population is 4.4 million people. About one third of Kentuckians are on Medicaid, so Kentucky is a welfare state. Kentucky residents currently receive $2.18 for every $1.00 they pay into federal income tax. Trump carried the state of Kentucky with 62.54% of the votes. I will never understand why these people voted against their own best interests.

Kentucky is a welfare state due to all the democrats running the government down there. Sad. More republicans need to get elected in Kentucky so this can get fixed.

The point,of my post was that Kentucky IS a red state. For example, based on the U.S. Census Bureau estimates from last year, Owsley County, Kentucky’s population of 4, 461 is more than 98% white. This is the nation’s poorest white majority county in the nation in terms of annual income. 66% of them are on Medicaid, and 84% of them voted for Trump. My point was: why would you vote against your own best interests?

After further research...I have listed below the top five welfare states and their federal assistance as a portion of their income.
Mississippi- 40.9%
Louisiana- 40.1%
Tennessee- 39.9%
Montana- 39.1%
Kentucky- 38.5%
All voted for Trump.

Too bad Kentucky doesn’t have a couple of real fiscal conservatives like Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul as their Senators. They would never in a million years let their state be a big government sponge.
Oh wait a minute!! HAHAHA
NOW I see how things work!!
