Have to say that I am often dismayed (appalled) at the poor grammer/spelling displayed here. I understand "typos", hurried posts, etc., but when I see the same grammer/spelling errors by the same posters, I have to assume they do not know proper spelling/grammer. And this by posters who obviously think they are very erudite and knowledgeable. But, really, YIKES! Check your spelling & grammer!

Indeed-may as well sell ALL your school buildings to churches. They are apparently failing to properly educate your populace in the use of language other than "LOL", Smile, and the like.

Isn't it grand that writers/authors (at least 19th century forward) had great editors?? Great scientists probably were not too concerned with the written word. And Churchill and Kennedy were noted for their spoken word....and probably had speech writers.

In this modern age, with all of the technology available, people should be able to produce properly spelled words and well constructed sentences. Just my opinion.

Had my knuckles rapped too many times by the good Sisters! I still feel them looking over my shoulder!

I guess the sisters didn't tell you that those who live in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones?

Next time you make a post specifically about how appalled (dismayed) you are at people's lack of proper grammar and how much smarter you are than those who can't use the English language properly perhaps you should take the time to proof read it first?

I understand typos, hurried posts ect but when someone is making it a point to call others out on something and butchers the English language at the same time it's a bit much.

Seriously...a post about spelling/grammar where you spell grammar wrong four times?!?!?  You ca't make this stuff up.

I do not have the source for this but have been saving it for just this situation-

I love how the Internet has improved people's grammar far more than any English teacher has.  If you write "your" instead of "you're" in English class all you get is a red mark.  Mess up on the Internet, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I believe that one of the most entertaining things on the internet is when a member of the "grammer" [sic] police issues a “citation,” which is riddled with mistakes.

I dunno why, its just funny!

MElass:  I realize “dunno” is not a word and “its” needs an apostrophe. But, this is just the internet.
