How is everyone liking The Donald so far?  I will say one thing, he's actually following through on many campaign promises so far.  Like the outcomes or not, he's doing exactly what he said he would do.  I guess we'll see if that continues.

I still hate all the fake news/alternative facts/bogus statements crap.  I'm smart enough to do my homework.  And if you want me to believe you on things and listen to you when you call out other people for lying - DON'T LIE TO ME YOURSELF.  It's pretty simple.

For example:  Our president has said many times that voter fraud during the election was prevalent.  His press secretary reaffirmed that it existed citing "sources" and "studies" which to everyone's knowledge do not exist.  Then this morning the president tweets about the need to START an investigation into voter fraud.  What?  This is like me preaching about how kale causes cancer and THEN asking for a study to see if kale actually causes cancer.  Unfortunately this is just one example of many.

Hey Mayor!  Hope you're doing well my friend.  As for the POTUS, it's a mixed bag at the moment for me.

I think it's pretty clear he's determined to follow through on his campaign promises, some of which I like.  It's nice to see that "banning Muslims" = suspending visas from Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Iran, Libya and Yemen, which is what most of us assumed he meant to begin with and is dripping with common sense.  I'm happy they're ready to replace ACA.  It's a disaster.  One of my parents is in the unfortunate position of not being able to afford a policy from the exchanges and currently has no coverage. There must be a better way without turning the entire healthcare industry over to the feds.

What I don't like is the insistence on fighting every single battle.  The crowd turnout thing is stupid.  Let it go.  Who cares.  I also wish he'd button up his facts on issues like voter fraud before issuing tweets about it.  I'm not a fan of a tweeting POTUS.  I know Obama started it, but I really dislike it.  I hated the popstar-ification of the POTUS by Obama and won't like it any better when Trump does it.

I think it's safe to say there's not going to be any concentration or forced conversion therapy camps....

What do you think??
If it matters, seek the truth.

Hey dad0f3!  It's good to hear from you, old friend.  I'm doing very well and I hope you are likewise.  And my 401k is doing even better.  Which, for me, is another huge positive of the current administration.

I'm with you, I go back and forth a bit with how I feel.  I want to feel very hopeful and mostly I have so far.  But (and this is JUST an analogy before anyone gets mad) it feels a bit like leaving a toddler unattended.  You hope they will do the right thing but you're not altogether shocked when they break something.

I'll be very interested to see what type of replacement is suggested for the ACA, which I think everyone can agree was flawed in many ways.  You and I can probably just agree to disagree on the immigration and visa issues, though I never bought the rhetoric from the far left about a complete ban and whatnot.  I'm all for common sense, even if the methods are not what I would choose.  I'm probably much more a friend of environmental concerns than the POTUS so I'm a little nervous about decisions being made there.

Like you, I am simply just sick and tired of the extracurricular shenanigans.  The tweets, the smoke and mirror answers from Conway and Spicer, the cryptic language often use, the conspiracy theories.  Enough is enough.  Unfortunately I think this is a mixture of two things.  1) just as you said, the office has become one of rockstar status and each rockstar in office feels the need to entertain the masses, and 2) this is simply who Trump is.  He's larger than life, in his own head if nowhere else.  And people have fed this persona and ego for so long that it truly is who he has become.  Not sure there's a cure for that short of some sort of devastating event, which I would not wish on anyone, especially not my president.

WOW! So much of these posts express my feelings. I am truly conflicted. I am one of those who voted for,but do not like, him. I hate his ego and (seeming) insecurity. His need to tweet whenever his tender ego is piqued. I don't give a rat's a$$ about how many people were at his inauguration...it is not important anywhere but in his fragile ego. I like many of his initiatives to move our economy forward and securing our country, I will continue to hope and pray for the best.

Wow! First amendment concerns: "War on Media"...He kicks the media out of the White House and institutes a gag rule on federal agency employers. He basically tells me I am stupid for paying my taxes, wants to shut down the EPA, assumes the office with immediate conflict of interest, has no clue about world affairs and signs any executive order thrown down in front of him. The man is a crass megalomaniac. I see us approaching a very dangerous dictatorship. But hey, these are just my immediate concerns. I'm sure there will be more to come.

The countries involved in the 9/11 attack were Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Lebanon. Most importantly, they forgot Nigeria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Also, are you aware that the US is sending Israel 38 billion dollars. Ironically, some of this money helps to pay for their universal healthcare, including abortions.

basser, I will agree that First Amendment concerns are justified.  It's scary territory to squelch any press or coverage of events.  "We the people" could become "you, the people who let us know what you want us to know."  I am not okay with that.  It's easy to armchair quarterback but in my opinion this goes back to Trump's personality.  He's simply not okay with criticism, debate, or reasonable questioning of his decisions.  And maybe thick skin comes with political experience, who knows?

I am also concerned with the recent leanings toward the possible use of torture and with the future trade agreements overseas.  Concerning trade, "our way or the highway" will only fly when dealing with desperate countries who need us more than we need them.  I met with my money manager this morning and I can tell you this is a major concern for them as well.  Domestically, stocks are doing very well.  Internationally, we could see some issues and unrest.

Concerning trade agreements, I would like help understanding the recent Mexico announcement. How will imposing a 20% tax on imported Mexican goods help pay for "Don's Wall"? Is there an assumption that there will be no price increase for U.S. Citizens? I'm no economic guru, but it seems to me that we (the buyers) will pay for the wall. We were told all along that Mexico was paying for the wall. What just happened?

I think we are definitely paying for the wall.  Any economist will tell you that this move will definitely drive prices up for us, thereby we indirectly pay for the wall.  Those who were in favor of the wall in the first place may not mind paying for it, those who opposed obviously have a huge problem with this.  But EACH group should realize they got duped on that one.  We are not getting what we were told, period.

Not I.  Which begs the question...why do we vote for people we know are blatantly lying to us?  Are we (collectively) really that ignorant and passive?

Something else to consider if Don starts a trade war with Mexico. China or Russia or both would certainly fill that trade void. China or Russia could build military bases or naval bases in Mexico

Zapp, what about the 307 electoral voters? I think they sincerely believed it would be built with Mexican money.

No joke, some latest Vegas odds are at 2:1 that Trump will be impeached at some point. They were at 4:1. I don't know what Vegas knows but they have pretty nice hotels and casinos so I'm thinking the house doesn't lose very often.

Casinos are a business. Meant to make money, the poor and working class people's poor mans stock market. Don should have known when to fold them. Trumps Taj Mahal 1991,trumps Castle and trump Plaza Cassinos 1992, trump Plaza Hotel 1992, trumps Hotels and Casinos Resorts 2004, trumps Entertainment Resorts 2009 all went into bankruptcy protection.
