Here's a new twist.

What exactly is the John W. Robbins Trust?

John W. Robbins Trust will offer $1,000 an acre for the parcels that include the stadium and ball diamond areas. The Trust would accept the parcel where the building is located at no cost if the other parcels are sold to it. Source: Journal News

It's another church related group.

I'm glad to see a responsible group of people taking interest in our little urban blight. Also I am proud of most for not being against any protected group interested in the old school grounds.

If one were against a protected group* it could be considered discriminatory. And that's not PC.

*protected group is a group of people qualified for special protection by a law, policy, or similar authority. Protected groups include sex, race, age, disability, color, creed, national origin or religion.

What if it wasn't a Christian church group? Would we fight against a Muslim group? How about a group of old men, what if a spanish group was interested?

If the city choose to do nothing and now a church gets involved and because of that fact, the city changes its position on the old high school, wouldn't that be indicative of prejudice?

Based on the outcry that an "Atheist" (read:Humanist) group is trying to get involved, I'd say no - it wouldn't fly.

I don't believe being an Atheist is considered a 'protected group.'

Yes, yes, and yes, I would be against each of those groups and any other if the BOE "sold" them the property for $1.
To be clear, I do NOT oppose this because a church is involved. I am opposed to the nature of the "deal" and offended by the initial secrecy.

No, that's not necessarily indicative of prejudice. I don't think most people are against it because it's a church. Instead they're against the nature of the deal.

Didn't you just post a bunch of articles stating atheism is a religion?

By that logic and standard, yes it is.

Well there is some serious anti-Christian sentiment around here, that's what I've observed.

Being against giving public land to a church isn't anti-Christian.

No.
No there isn't.

It's been explained to you more than once.  You just love talking about christians being attacked.

Nobody here cares WHO is getting the land for free.  Christian, Satan, Muslim or a permanent 3 ring circus they would all be treated the same.

Why do you love pretending that you have been attacked?

It's the you can't say anything negative about churches or race without being labeled anti-any religion or raciest.

That what the PC world has come to.  Disapprove

Why would you say anything negative about a church? What are you saying that you call negative?

Please don't pretend that there is a serious anti-christian bias on 3 of our prominent posters to this site. I'm not going to point to any specific posts at this time. But going forward we will all see the bias for what it is, anti-Christ ian. Shocked
