BP101
Why is a power plant being built on the border of Monroe residential area less than 5280 feet from families with children? There was no letter of intent sent to Brittony Woods HOA or others on the border of a natural gas megawatt power plant.

Public disclosure is required if ever tapping the highly regulated gas pipe line, was never to be exposed above ground in crossing this region. Should there ever be a gas leak or worse it will utterly destroy our homes.

Secondly the harmonic noise decibel level of a 7/24 power plant is horrendous and will not be tolerated by Monroe residence.

any thoughts?

I would have thought public notification and discussion would be required. We live even closer--- in Brittony Trails.

Is 'horrendous' an actual decibel level reading?
I always thought db was measured in numbers.

HAHAHHAHAHAHA! With the Trump administration coming in you'll be lucky if they don't run a pipeline right through your living room! Feel free to "not tolerate" to your heart's content but don't expect an energy company to figure your intolerance into their plans.

Because they were already doing that under the Obama Administration?!?!? This power plant is well under way and has NOTHING to do with Trump Admin. How like the left to make an example of their own inept policies and foist it on the right.

Better start studying-Trump is already planning to gut environmental laws and let the Keystone pipeline proceed. I'm not part of "the left"-I just know bullcrap when I smell it.

Cleanest in the country.

http://www.journal-news.com/news/middletown-nte-power-plant-among-cleanest-country/NSFzaUOHaqleXuUlchIdRM/

“The Middletown Energy Center will be one of the cleanest and most efficient natural-gas-fired power plants in the USA once it is operational,” said Michael Schuster, a project developer for NTE, which is based in St. Augustine, Fla. The plant’s construction began in October 2015 and is expected to take just over two years before the plant is ready to burn gas and add electricity supplies to the region’s grid.

Yesterday we received a brochure from Enterprise Products about "pipeline safety" It said our address had been identified as being within 1 mile of one of their pipelines/facilities. The brochure (which they advised us to keep) provided safety information and a Emergency phone number.

Their pipelines actually run through our backyard. They come a couple times a year to check on the lines and drop off the literature that informs us of what to look for and whom to call in case of an emergency.

John here is some history of the pipelines you are speaking of. They are called the Little Big Inch and date back to WWII.

Drill Baby Drill ! Would the power plant really matter if it was located 5,280' or 6,280' from residential areas? This map only represents the pipe lines of EPP. Think of how many more high pressure lines are out there. On the same subject, I will give credit to the Sioux Chief chairman Dave Archambault for standing up against the North Dakota Pipeline. Sadly this decision may be reversed after don takes power.

Good point basser. There are many high pressure gas mains that are not shown on the map. And this map is only a map generated by Enterprise Products. It does not show the gas line put through the area by another company just two years ago. Nor does it show the 6" jet fuel line that runs from the Todhunter complex to Greater Cincinnati Airport. It goes south out of the complex and runs across 63 near Xerox to Ky. Also Duke Energy lines are numerous throughout the area.

The two interstate pipelines that run through are area of SW Ohio are Texas Gas Transmission and Texas Eastern Transmission. Both of which run through the New Madrid Seismic Zone. A major earthquake with a magnitude between 7-8 did happen in 1812 with this fault . Just a little history.
