I know the Mayor to be a good man, one who will fight for what he believes in.

I look forward to seeing who will be installed as Suzi Rubin's replacement and how the new council will handle its fiscal responsibilities with all the new revenue and spending being proposed.

As I look back over the past 14 years we have seen tremendous growth and opportunity for the city. I have to credit the top guy, Mayor Routson, for being the man who was responsible for the city's success or failure.

Good luck Mayor Routson. You will need it! You have presided over many challenges over the past 14 years. This year could be just as challenging as early on in your mayorship when you took over as city exiting a state deemed Fiscal Emergency. I wish you and your council good judgment with our tax money while keeping us safe during this historic growth in population and business.

The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.

The mayor's daughter posted her deep-felt congrats to her dad on becoming mayor of Monroe for his 14th Year. The mayor is elected by fellow councilmen. The vote count is not confirmed at this time but will be posted when it becomes available.
