French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel together unveiled a commemorative plaque in France to honor the ceasefire of their two countries in WWI and to celebrate their reconciliation. Aislne-Marne American cemetery is in France and is the final resting place for 1,800 American soldiers from WWI. Don is in France as well, but could not pay his respects to the fallen soldiers due to the weather. My grandfather fought for the Allies in WWI in France, His name is engraved on a commemorative monument located at the American Legion building on South Main Street in Middletown, Ohio. Don’s behavior is embarrassing to the nation and is an insult to the fallen, our veterans and their families. Unfortunately, I am not even surprised.
