I know it will be a while before large trash pick up ,is there a way they would pick up a large item even if its not large trash pick up day ?

Depends on what it is.
I've often had success in getting large stuff to disappear on trash day.
Metal? Wood? Furniture? Appliance?

Or often with a bit of elbow grease you can break something down to easier to handle size and they will take it.

Honestly, I think if these guys (alone or with help) can lift it, they will take it. The men who service our neighborhood are outstanding. My husband chased ours down a few months ago when they took an old, large, tube TV,to try and give them a tip! No Sir, they said.
