Trump plans to give 12 BILLION dollars to the US farmers who will be destroyed by his tariff war. That is my tax money going to welfare for farmers who didn’t ask for this war. Any product coming into the USA during this tariff war will cost me more in taxes. Where is my welfare money? The farmers didn’t ask for this, the automakers didn’t ask for this, Caterpillar didn’t ask for this, Boeing didn’t ask for this and I didn’t ask for this tariff war. Let’s see if China doesn’t tighten the screws on the US. China is predicted to have 1.4 billion middle class consumers by 2030. Compare that to a forecast of 365 million in America. Finally, Mitch McConnell is currently the most powerful person in our government. Yet he stands to lose his bourbon-producing state to these tariffs. Unfortunately, like his cowardly cohorts, he will not make waves against the Don.

...the EU "can import more soybeans from the U.S.

As U.S. soybean farmers have struggled against retaliatory tariffs, Juncker said the EU "can import more soybeans from the U.S. and it will be done." He said the two sides also agreed to work together to reform the World Trade Organization, which Trump has vehemently criticized as being unfair to the U.S.

In 2016, China bought 86 million tons of U.S. soybeans, compared to Europe, who bought 19 million tons. Europe doesn’t use nearly enough soybeans to make up the loss of the Chinese market. From what I can gather, Europe doesn’t currently apply a tariff on U.S. soybeans, so Juncker made the best deal by promising not to levy a tariff on imported U.S. soybeans. He gave up nothing, and Don put his European trade war on hold. Brazil and Argentina are number 2 and 3 respectively after the U.S. in soybean production. Brazil produces 2 crops per year and they grow a non-GMO bean. China will buy from these two countries and never look back. In trade wars, losing any customer is bad business. It could take years (if ever) for the American farmer to win back China’s business.

From the Washington Post: Chinese-owned company qualifies for Trump’s anti-China farm bailout. Smithfield Foods is a Virginia-based pork producer acquired in 2013 by a Chinese conglomerate (now named WH Group). Under this farm bailout created this summer, they can apply for federal money. Also, JBS, a Brazilian company, is eligible as well. The two companies are the biggest pork producers in the USA. Both companies already receive federal money. In 2017, the USDA purchased $11 million worth of pork from Smithfield and $12 million from JBS. These goods are delivered to schools, food banks and households under the USDA’s Commodity Procurement Program. Does anyone else see the irony inherent in this?

The Washington Post, December 11, 2018. “The senate on Tuesday voted overwhelmingly to approve an $867 billion farm bill, as congress appeared poised to pass legislation that will help an agricultural industry battered by President Trump’s trade war.” Legislation will now lead to the House, where it is also expected to pass. On a side note, Mitch McConnell gets his legalized hemp. If anyone is interested, read the entire farm bill for yourself.

China has bought US soybeans for the first time since the trade war between the two countries started in July.

The country's finance ministry also confirmed it would temporarily reduce tariffs on US car imports from 40% to 15%, beginning on 1 January.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/business-46531803" rel="nofollow - The much anticipated moves  follow a truce reached after Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping met in December.

In announcing the tariff suspension, China said it hoped the two sides would speed negotiations.

US officials hailed China's purchase of 1.13 million tonnes of US soybeans on Thursday as a "great step" - but said it remained uncertain if a broader deal would follow.

12-15-2018; Boeing delivers first 737 from a new Chinese factory. This comes amid a 90 day truce in the US-China trade war. China is on track to surpass the U.S.A. As the world’s largest air travel market by 2022.

A second round of payments to the farmers (patriots), hurt by Don’s tariffs. I will give $9.6 billion to producers of almonds, cotton, corn, dairy, pork, soybeans, sorghum, sweet cherries and wheat. No mention of the Flint Michigan water crisis.

Very interesting to go back and review some of the older posts.....

12 Billion last year, and now whining (dealing) for more just to continue to provide socialized welfare to a country full of farmers who just want to grow and sell their crops.

Boeing next (?)

Don't believe there are any Trump Towers in Beijing.

These guys may just squeeze his nuts until it gets intriguing..........
