Near the recently formed entertainment district a PTZ Camera is being considered for traffic assistance. A PTZ is a camera that can Pan, Tilt and Zoom. PTZ cameras have tremendous capabilities including zooming in on people and things from great distances. In this case the camera will be used to help manage traffic on the east end of town on RT 63 at Gateway Blvd. across from Traders World Flea Market.


Consideration of Motion authorizing the expenditure of $35,000 to Capital Electric for Traffic
Signal Improvements at State Route 63 and Gateway Boulevard.

Background. This motion includes pricing to install Pan, Tilt and Zoom (PTZ) cameras at the
intersection of S.R. 63 @ Gateway Boulevard along with video detection for vehicular traffic to
make the intersection signal operation more efficient. The PTZ cameras will be added to the
existing traffic signal monitoring system along with all software upgrades necessary. The fee for
this work shall include all labor, equipment and material, wired complete, and fully operational
video detection and Closed-Circuit TV camera system.
