Kid Rock.  Interesting choice for a devout Mormon.

The list of celebrities seems to be incomplete, but is expected to be extensive, beyond what I posted above! I also have read estimates of 50,000 people expected which would be huge, and a colossal mess as well. This is exciting. Shuttle buses are being used.

So.. since it's apparent from the 2008 election that associations don't matter to the vast majority of Americans, I don't know why you would waste your time on one conservative who probably swears less than Rahm Emanuel.

Don't get me wrong, hornet82, I actually like a lot of Kid Rock's stuff.

But I'm also not running for President on the "family value" ticket with anti-abortion stances and seeking the female vote (now more than ever).  That was more my point.

I was trying to picture Kid Rock singing Black Girl, White Guy about underage sex ending in abortion and then Mitt Romney getting on stage talking about family values.  It made me chuckle a bit.  And trust me, I'm not a fan of many of Obama's "associations" either.  It's one thing if a foul mouthed rocker endorses and backs your campaign.  It's another thing when you actually invite him on stage with you as some sort of spokesperson.

But, as always, supporters will find a way (as the do with Obama) to either ignore it or somehow justify it because of their faithful support of one guy.

    Interesting.

I've heard a lot of Romney speeches. Seen him in person and shook his hand.  I never came away feeling like I just left church. And I've never had the feeling he was pushing a family values agenda.

Which is a good thing in my opinion because this election is not about that, it's about jobs and limiting the size of government so America can get back to work and out of debt.  And that's mostly what I hear Romney talk about.

But IF abortion was a family values issue.. are you saying Romney's pro-life stance makes him a family values guy? Then if so, does that mean Obama's pro abortion stance makes him an anti family values candidate?

I'm pretty sure that's what they ALL talk about.  Do you honestly believe what they say?  And if so, what or who has caused you to do so?  How many of them keep their promises?  How many of them fulfill the things they say on the campaign trail?  Come on.

I think you're confusing me for a Obama supporter.  I am not.

Thanks for the reply! I know what you mean.

As I seldom post here, and this is getting off topic, I'm just going to get back to work :  )

    You too!

Enjoy the rally if you go.  I wasn't trying to discourage you, just making observations.

It's nice to have intelligent conversations on here.  Too many of these threads turn into nonsense.

I lived in Massachusetts while he was governor.  I voted for him in fact; I hated that woman he ran against.  Anyway I don't think he's a bad guy per se; but he most certainly pushes a family values agenda.

and by that I mean "traditional" family values.

As far as jobs and Mitt go; Mitt knows how to balance a book and make a dollar no doubt.  he just likes to get to that dollar by cutting domestic labor and replacing it with cheaper foreign work.  If you think that is what will pull this country out of this mess then go for it.

In fact...if over the course of his time with Bane he hadn't sent so many jobs out of this country perhaps this mess today wouldn't be as bad.

Yeah-unless you're the guy who had to go clean up the library grounds and parking lot afterwards. Which I am. So screw political rallies. Waste of time and money to entertain people who already have their minds made up.

    LOL

    Steve Jobs' Meeting With Obama

Jobs, who was known for his prickly, stubborn personality, almost missed meeting President Obama in the fall of 2010 because he insisted that the president personally ask him for a meeting. Though his wife told him that Obama "was really psyched to meet with you," Jobs insisted on the personal invitation, and the standoff lasted for five days. When he finally relented and they met at the Westin San Francisco Airport, Jobs was characteristically blunt. He seemed to have transformed from a liberal into a conservative.

"You're headed for a one-term presidency," he told Obama at the start of their meeting, insisting that the administration needed to be more business-friendly. As an example, Jobs described the ease with which companies can build factories in China compared to the United States, where "regulations and unnecessary costs" make it difficult for them.

    ____

Point being: "This Mess" is caused by our Gov's inability to create a business friendly environment where companies like Apple can build factories and do business. It's not caused by any single businessman like, Jobs or Romney, who's doing what's best for their stockholders.
