According to the i75 Plan the area, which includes Monroe, is aging, family oriented and growing.

Aging Population – Figure 1-2 shows that between 2000 and
2010, the percentage of people over the age of 55 increased from 28.3% to 32.6% of the overall
population. Likewise, the population pyramid for the year 2010 (Figure 1-3) clearly shows a bulge
in the population close to the 45-54 age range.

Family Oriented Population – Figure 1-3 also illustrates the family oriented nature of those living
along the I-75 corridor in Warren County, with adolescents ages 5-14 representing the second
largest age group in 2010.

Growing Population – Figure 1-4 shows the population growth trends of Turtlecreek Township
(excluding the City of Lebanon and the State Property) and Franklin Township (including the Cities
of Franklin and Carlisle). In  2010, Turtlecreek Township had a population of 15,143, which  is
expected to grow to 19,462 people by  2030; a  percent increase  of 29%. Franklin Township has had
more of a fluctuating growth trend, but overall, a small increase in population is expected. In
2010, 30,312 people lived in Franklin Township, including the Cities of Franklin and Carlisle; in
2030, the Township is predicted to have
30,809 people, which is a population increase of 1.2%

What exactly does family oriented mean? Is that just suggesting people want to start a family?

That's a good question. I think it is based on how many children live within the area more so than those wanting to procreate. However procreation and children would have a statistical relationship.
